Mother-in-law.

When I asked her to come out of the hut, she said no because she didn’t have on a pretty dress.

When I asked her to smile, she denied me my request.

When I asked to take her picture she gave me more than I could have ever asked for.

The exchange between the photographer and subject sometimes becomes so powerful, you can often “feel” the connection and the “gift” they are giving you without any words being expressed.

I miss the people on Ilin Island and hope to return again soon someday with @wattsoflove.
