This is one of the nicest Bahay kubo’s (Filipino for house) I have seen on the island so far.
Mayette, her sister Marivic, daughter Majoy and Dad live in this Bahay kudo and proudly display their new metal roof.
Last night I visited a lovely family who had nine children living in a home no larger the 10ftx10ft hut and one kerosene light. For having so little material processions I can’t help but notice the joy that radiants from the local people. Sincerely their joy and laughter is palpable.
While praying today I read this quote today by Mother Theresa and it brought me to tears and I wanted to share it.
“If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives; be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some false friends and true enemies; succeed anyway.
If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you; be honest and frank anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous; be happy anyway.
The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; do good anyway…
You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God; it was never between you and them anyway.”
― Mother Teresa.
