Stumbled on this image of me teaching “app stacking” in Brazil at the mobile conference two years ago.
Can’t wait to continue teaching on the power of mobile photography and community at this years MACWORLD @macworldexpo.
This image really reminds me how far things have grown since I started using my cell phone camera.
Thanks @mobilemasters, @marcolina, @jackhollingsworth look forward to sharing a stage with you. Image by @simplesleo #macworld2014
This is what I am most looking forward to when I go back to the Philippines this coming Monday!
Yes, the faces are cute, their laughs are like music and their joy is palpable, however, the best thing about the Filipino that I encountered on Bantayan Island is their constant desire to hold my hand at all times.
When I didn’t have enough hands for all the kids, each child would grab my individual fingers. 10 fingers, 10 kids. Makes it had to take photos!
Their little embraces as we walked gave me the sensation of pure joy and love.
I am so pumped to be traveling back! #givelight, #WOL
The submissions for our vintage old school cameras meets new school mobile master edits have been amazing so far.
To me one of the best photographers Instagram is @koci. Richard is actually 100% responsible for showing me the potential of mobile photography.
I am so happy to be speaking at this years @macworldexpo and hope to finally meet Richard.
@koci was in last year’s @MobileMasters ebook as well as @italianbrother and @christianjsweet to name a few.

I said it last year and will say it again, these are the two BEST iPad books on mobile photography I have ever seen. The creator of these two iPad books, @marcolina, is a wonderful teacher and packs so much into these outstanding resources.

As I was photographing several young children on Bantayan Island, this women came out of her tent to observe all of the laughter and fun. When I motioned to take her picture and said the words “beautiful” she became as child like as the children I had just been photographing.
No matter want age, or life experience every person wants to be recognized, noticed and seen as beautiful both inside and out.
Although most portrait photographer’s prefer to shoot shallow depth of field portraits. (Meaning they blur the background.) I love shooting deep focus environmental portraits to create a sense of story telling.
Shot this image of @joshjohnson in NYC as we were waiting to ride the subway to our @fiatusa event.
Josh is always very cooperative subject even when we were running 30 minutes late! Hey the light was good and I wanted to get my shot.
This young Filipino boy pulls a broken branch to the village dump. The thick white smoke billowing from various fires around the dump created a impenetrable barrier of visibility.
I will be returning to the Philippines in February and I am looking forward to seeing the children I befriended on Ilin Island again.
I will be traveling to Kenya, Africa next month and partnering with the Kenya Children’s foundation.
Really excited about the trip since it will be my first time in Africa.
We will be in Nairobi and working specifically in Dandora.
If there are any local photographer, videographers or instagramers wanting to help me and @watts_of_love, I would love to communicate with you!
Asante na Natarajia kuzungumza na wewe na kufanya kazi kwa pamoja wakati mwingine.
Thanks so much.
Just received a shipment of our solar lights, backpacks and wristbands with our new logo on them.
Yep, getting ready to travel again!
Where are we going?
Back to the Philippines and then to Kenya.
Cue the Lion King theme song.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa sibenyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa wabami sibabaaaaa enyaaaaaaa yaaaaaaaaaaa!
As I currently freeze in Chicago with our -13 below temps, I am reminded of how shelter from the blazing sun was so rare and difficult for the people of Bantaya Island. Most of the trees on the island were destroyed by typhoon #Haiyan.
This boy was lucky enough to find a single standing tree and he added two torn piece of wood to increase the shade for a little comfort.
