Early bird.
Wonderful looking hawk outside my studio today.

I’ve been drivin’ all night,
my hand’s wet on the wheel.
There’s a voice in my head
that drives my heel. (at Highway to no where)

Sidekick. (at City of Sycamore)

The speed and control this kid consistently displayed was truly amazing and scary.

The knife is real, he was as intense as he looks and the blood from the cut on his thumb was red.

Apparently, he didn’t get the memo about not playing with knives. (at naper settlement )

Had a great day directing the interview for the @watts_of_love movie at Tribeca studios.

Nancy (the Co-Founder) did a great job and can’t wait for you guys to see what exciting things are coming for @watts_of_love.

Forgiveness has no strings attached restoration has a number of stings attached.

I now pronounce you man and wife!

Does Instagram really create “real relationships?” Yes, it does!

I had the fortunate opportunity to attend my friend @jpcaruso’s wedding today in Chicago. I met JP when @joshjohnson and I traveled to Brazil last October to speak at a mobile photography conference.

@jpcaruso and I hit it off really well and have continued to stay in contact. JP met a lovely American girl @megglee living in Brazil and was smart enough to marry her!

While visiting with them the night before the wedding, I found out that they sometimes battle over who posts images first on Instagram if it’s a good scene. So funny, however, I wanted to get this image posted before @megglee’s mom and dad posted the same shot. LOL!

Thanks for inviting me today guys. May your marriage always be blessed and full of love and happiness.

Dinning room, candle stick, Colonel Mustard.

After reviewing a few images from my brief instameet with @sweatengine and @sittingingodspalm I started to think about their current journey into the unknown.

Although they barely knew each other weeks ago they decided to jump in a car together, drive around American and experience life with all it’s blessing and challenges. #roundaboutusa. This common experience and journey will forever bond these two men together for the rest of their days.

Although not as dangerous and life threatening, this bond reminded me of how men that served in the armed forces share a common bond that seems to grow stronger with the passage of time.

To honor Joe and Kevin’s time together, I decided to edit this image to represent the amazing cinematography work by Janusz Kaminski. Janusz’s singular look and feel established in the movie Saving Private Ryan was later used as the template for the mini series Band of Brothers.

Keep going my IG Brothers and remember the time you spend together will only grow more fond the smaller it becomes in your rearview mirror. (at The birth place of a friendship)

One man sees weeds, other see art. Who is right? (at Lacey Creek)

As a photographer, it is amazing to hear the stories people can tell with out ever saying a word as I photograph them. (at Naper Settlement)

My submission for #LittleCoalChallenge_4.

Many times an artist becomes scared to enter into greatness and refuses to take the next step forward with their art. Thus, greatness eludes then for the rest of their careers.

Recently, I told @littlecoal that the only and next logical step with his little coal’s house series was to end it by burning the house down!

Regrettably to date, Eric has refused to step into greatness.

As a good friend, I have created this image as a means of encouraging Eric of the possibilities of an amazing ending to his series. I would ask that everyone reading this to please help me and ask Eric to burn it! Burn it down! Burn it to the ground! FIRE, FIRE, FIRE!

As immortal words of Beavis and Butthead ring in my head, the word sarcasm also rolls from my lips.

Can’t wait to see the house in person someday @littlecoal.

Behind blue eyes.

Cheese Balls. Whenever I am shooting a portrait I try and develop a concept that fits the persons personality or style. Sometime when I see a comment that they wrote it just jumps out at me and that becomes the inspiration.

Last week I had the great opportunity to meet @sweatengine. In his profile @sweatengine describes himself as a Full Time Cheese Ball. Although I found him to be the exact opposite of a cheese ball, it was hard to pass up the concept when I asked to shoot his portrait.

@sweatengine was really cool when I asked him if I could dump a huge container of cheese balls on his head after my photo walk with @sittingingodspalm and @jasonmpeterson ended.

Thanks for being so nice, personable and sincere @sweatengine. Good luck on your travels guys it was great meeting you!!

Fender bender? Looks more like a drive by shooting to me.

Sometimes God gives you exactly what you need when you need it and I needed this today!

Handmade letters to me from the children I met on Ilin island with @watts_of_love.

I just posted and talked about getting a handwritten letter in the mail in a previous post and it really is so special!

I miss all of the children so much. Love you Mona Lisa and Michael Jordan and I can’t wait to see you again. Kevin

Last week I had the good fortune to meet @sittingingodspalm and @sweatengine as they blew into Chicago on there Instagram US tour.

After @jasonmpeterson an I finished our mobile shooting with them, I decided to shoot a portrait of each in a parking lot.

@sittingingodspalm really decided to throw CAUTION to the wind, by quitting his job, packing up his bike and taking to the open road. This decision took courage and I know it will bring him great benefits.

Hope you like the shot @sittingingodspalm. Be well and take care. Up next…@sweatengine portrait. (at Oberweis Dairy)
